Driving test The driving test lasts approximately 40 minutes. Apart from general driving your test will include an eyesight test, 2 questions regarding the maintenance checks and one manoeuvre from the following: reversing around a corner, a turn in the road, a reverse park and a bay park. You may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop. Throughout the test you will need to drive in the way you have been taught. If you make a mistake don't worry it may only be a minor fault and not affect your result. Your examiner will give you directions clearly and in good time. You can commit a total of 15 minor driving faults and still pass but if at any time during the test the examiner considers you to be a danger to, either, yourself or another road user your test may be terminated. During your test you will be asked to carry out an 'independent drive'. This involves the examiner, either, explaining where they would like you to go or showing you a diagram. This illustrates to the examiner that you can follow road signs and road markings etc. To help you prepare for your test we will arrange a mock test for you about 2 weeks prior to your actual test. For further details of this please see our mock test page. If you would like us to book a practical test for you or you require any additional information regarding the test please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements. |
